Presence as a Service

Status-OnAir-Away

Based on a concept envisioned by one of the founders, PaaS enables users to proactively alert others of their “Presence,” i.e., their availability and willingness to interact or be interrupted. This application will be expanded under the Platform for use not only for work or family-related Presence (“don’t interrupt me”; “I’m available for this type of interruption”; “I’m available to all personal contacts but not work contacts”), but to enhance and facilitate far-reaching effects on social Presence and social media (“Eric is available for one hour to discuss travel, wine, and food with all of his contacts who have identified similar likes”).

MARKET NEEDS and OPPORTUNITY

As a result of the stay-at-home work schedules necessitated by the pandemic, a recent study shows that 83 percent of employers now report that the transition to remote work has been successful for their company. This number indicates a significant increase compared to the 73 percent success rate noted before the pandemic.

More employees say they are more productive now than they were before the pandemic (34 percent vs. 28 percent ). In addition to this, more executives concur; more than half (52 percent) say employee productivity has increased, compared to 44 percent who say productivity has remained the same since the pre-pandemic era.

The global gig economy is currently worth $347 billion and is projected to reach $455 billion by 2023, expanding at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 17.4 percent.
By 2027, the number of freelancers in the United States is projected to increase from 57 million to 86 million. In the decade from 2020 to 2030, the total number of jobs in the United States is projected to increase by 11.9 million, from 153.5 million to 165.4 million.

The aforementioned factors bolster the need and size of the market for effective workplace efficiency solutions. On-Air believes a similar market exists for personal use, allowing family members to present their current status to the rest of the household and assisting groups such as the elderly with reminders to take medications, eat, etc.
